How You Can Start Charging at Least $50/Thumbnail (Case-Study)

This is one of the reasons why I always highlight working on your portfolio, even if you’re a complete beginner having a decent amount of thumbnails under your belt (even if they’re just practice) shows clients that you master what you preach.

We agreed on a $75 per thumbnail fee and he was posting about 4 videos per month.

Each thumbnail takes me less than 2 hours to create, which makes me dedicate 8 hours to Eman’s YouTube channel every month for around $300/month.

As a newbie in the thumbnails industry, you might see this as a very high rate for a simple image.

Let me tell you it’s all about how you market yourself, so if you’re selling your prospects on pixels you can then stick with the $5 to $20 rates.

But when you’re positioned as someone who can deliver transformations not jpeg’s, the game becomes all different.

Always aim to showcase how your work helped previous clients to increase the CTR, views, engagement, and visibility… which affect the overall channel income.

If you haven’t got any tangible results so far, no problem!

Offer your prospects guarantees and divide the payment into different milestones so clients know you aren’t just yapping around.

You see, being underpaid isn’t because of the client or the thumbnails that don’t pay well, actually, it’s all about how you value yourself and your work.

So after our agreement, me and Eman followed a solid plan as we were ready to conquer the YouTube game.

It took just two videos for the channel to take off, with Eman hitting 300k views on a single video.

Seeing our collaboration deliver such fast results left him excited to create even more content.

Since then (around 9 months), we’ve kept the momentum going and continued working together. 

In total, we’ve created 34 videos, and the channel's average views per video have skyrocketed from 9k to 176k per video.

Eman invested $2,550 in those 34 thumbnails, and so far, he's earned over $27,725 just from ad revenue alone.
